Types of Electric Arc Welding Machine

Welding Machine Alternating Current (AC machines)

Due to the direct use of the AC electric current foreign policy that has a voltage high enough compared to the needs of the welding that requires only a voltage range from 55 volts to 85 volts then the welding machine is using a transformer (transformer) step-down transformer that serves the lower voltage. The transformer used in the welding equipment has considerable power. To melt some of the parent metal electrode and a large energy is required, because the voltage at the terminal is only a small secondary coil, then to produce a great power to the mainstream. Current used for welding equipment about 10 amperes to 500 amperes. The amount of electric current can be adjusted in accordance with welding purposes. For the purposes of the power required larger currents as well, and vice versa.

Welding Machine direct current (DC Machines)

The electrical current is used to obtain the electric arc flame is direct current. This direct current from a dynamo machine direction of the electric motor. Dynamo can be driven by an electric motor, motor gasoline, diesel motors, or other drive means. Current machines that use an electric motor as the driving force initially require equipment that serves as a rectifier currents. Rectifier or rectifier currents serves to convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). Alternating current is converted into direct current in the welding process has several advantages, among others:

a. The resulting electrical arc flame is more stable,
b. Each type of electrode can be used in DC welding machine,
c. Lower noise levels,
d. Welding machine is more flexible, because it can be converted into alternating current or direct current.

DC welding machine there are two kinds of welding machine stationary or portable welding machine. Stationary welding machine normally used to place or repair shop that has a permanent power grid, such as electricity. The portable welding machine has a relatively small form normally used for the welding process in places where electricity is not affordable. Things to consider in the operation of a welding machine is the use in accordance with procedures issued by factory machine maker, which in accordance with the recommended treatment. Disturbances often occur in welding machines, including machines not issuing an electrical current or an electric arc flame is weak.

Excess Welding DC and AC Machine

DC Welding Machine
  1. Electric arc flame generated stable.
  2. Can use all types of electrodes.
  3. Can be used for welding of thin plates.

AC Welding Machine
  1.     Less expensive equipment and maintenance
  2.     Mass of the electrode wires and cables can be exchanged to influence the resulting
  3.     Small arc flame, thereby reducing the incidence of loss on the ridge-ridge welding

Double Welding Machine (Machine AC-DC)

Welding machine is capable of serving the welding with direct current (DC) and welding with alternating current. Welding machine has a double and a single phase transformer rectifier device in one unit. Alternating current output is taken from the transformer secondary winding terminal current through the regulator. The direct current is taken from the output of rectifier equipment. Setting the output current or direct current bolakbalik can be done easily, simply by turning the flow control devices of welding machines. AC-DC welding machine is more flexible because it has all the capabilities of each welding machine welding machine DC or AC. Welding machine of this type often used for workshops that have the types of jobs vary, so no need to fiddle welding for welding different.
